Ugoroam eSIM 30-Day Real-World Test

Tokyo → Seoul → London → NYC

30 days. 4 cities. 1 eSIM. I threw every physical SIM in a drawer and travelled only with Ugoroam Daily Unlimited. Here’s exactly what happened, day by day, no filter.

Test Rules

  • Phone: latest iPhone (dual physical + multiple eSIM)
  • Main line: Ugoroam Daily Unlimited (Japan 3 GB/day → Korea 10 GB/day → UK 10 GB/day → US 10 GB/day)
  • Backup: physical home SIM for calls only
  • Usage: heavy (4K video, Zoom, hotspot MacBook, navigation, streaming)

Day 1–10 Tokyo (3 GB/day on NTT docomo)

Average: 2.8 GB/day Best moment: Narita Express → Shibuya coworking at 400 Mbps+ the whole ride Near-miss: Kyoto mountain temples → brief 2G fallback → still navigated perfectly Verdict: 3 GB felt like unlimited. Never hunted for Wi-Fi.

Day 11–17 Seoul (10 GB/day on SK Telecom 5G)

Average: 8.4 GB/day (shot way too much 4K) Best moment: Gangnam rooftop bar hotspot to MacBook at 600 Mbps+ Near-miss: Hongdae Friday night crowd → 2G kept Instagram scrolling Verdict: First trip I dared shoot everything in 4K 60 fps.

Day 18–24 London (10 GB/day on Vodafone/O2/Three)

Average: 7.7 GB/day (Zoom + Tube hotspot) Best moment: Shoreditch → Canary Wharf full 5G, hotspot colleague calls zero lag Near-miss: deep Tube tunnels → 2G still sent Slack messages Verdict: London Underground internet now beats most home Wi-Fi.

Day 25–30 New York (10 GB/day on T-Mobile + Verizon)

Average: 9.3 GB/day (Times Square live streams) Best moment: JFK landing → full bars in 30 seconds, subway hotspot never dropped Near-miss: Brooklyn warehouse district weak spot → 2G still called Uber Verdict: 10 GB/day felt truly unlimited in the US 5G is insane.

Only one “failure” in 30 days

Kyoto mountains 2G navigation lagged 8 seconds. That’s it. Hotspot ran 220+ hours. Never dropped.
